In the /var/opt/SUNWSMS/adm/platform/messages file, we see similar errors:
Aug  7 17:44:26 2013 workingSC esmd[27959]: [1921 12093513465321563 ERR DetectorV.cc 471] 5.0CUR0, located on SC0, has been identified as being out of sharing range. SC0 requires attention. Check all hardware for the cause.
Failed SC can be detected either as BAD or POWERED-OFF in showenvironment output:
LOCATION         SENSOR           VALUE   UNIT  AGE        STATUS
----------       ------------     -----   ----  ------     ------

SC at SC0        5.0 V_PS1        1.70    A     25.4  sec  BAD

Cause

Each SC has 2 PS (0 and 1) that are supposed to share the load.

This means that around half of the power has to be given by PS0 and half from PS1 for both 3.3 and 5.0 CUR values.

Unbalanced load means there is a failure which the good PS is trying to provide for.

Solution

Replace the reported System Controller Board:

https://support.oracle.com/handbook_private/Devices/System_Board/SYSBD_SunFire15K_SysCtlr.html
