Symptoms

SNMP queries do not respond on virtual Pilot IP address R5.x

Cause

This is a known Bug on the Pilot implementation of SNMP.

The Java SNMP libraries are binding only to the specific IP address of the pilot not to the shared IP which is the IP address that is shared between the Pilots.

Solution

For now, the solution is to use the specific Pilot IP.  We realize this is an inconvenience for implementers because of course when the Pilot fails over, you now have to know to go query the other IP.

Engineering don’t have an ETA for a fix on this, but they will investigate what can be done for future release.
