Symptoms

A send_mondo panic or Oracle VM guest domain hang will occur when a CPU fails to respond to crosscall request.

Example send_mondo panic output;

Cause

This is a generic panic that can be caused by a variety of conditions.

Should a send_mondo occur on SPARC T4 it is highly recommended that Service Processor firmware is upgraded to a minimum of 8.3.0.c. This release has a substantial number of observability and stability enhancements, designed to optimise platform stability and offer improved diagnosibility features.

Solution

Install System FW release 8.3.0.c (or later)
