Uncorrectable ECC Fault on DIMM reported during CPU initialization.

Cause

This is a known issue with older ILOM firmware.

"False UE errors on system reset".

See evidence of false UE errors on system reset in the service processors SEL (System Event Log). Just after CPU initialization the UE errors occurs which happens after a manually initiated reset.

The UE error is reported because of the reset and is not the cause of the reset:

Solution

Update iLOM firmware to latest and clear the FMA fault.

Latest ILOM firmware download links are available on:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/patches/firmware/release-history-jsp-138416.html

If a newer firmware is not available, check with Oracle Support to see if a pending release is due or a new release can be made available for you with this bug fix.

To clear the FMA fault for the DIMM. (Here fault reported for P1/D8 DIMM )

-> set SYS/MB/P1/D8 clear_fault_action=true
