Cause

The most likely root cause is: system firmware BUG 6856163 After set defaults without LAN cable to NET MGT, sccd daemon shutdown

Solution

1. Power cycle the server with removing the power cords for at least 2 minutes

2. Update the firmware - ideally to the most recent version
see: Firmware Downloads and Release History for Sun Systems

3. If the hard reset or updating the firmware has not resolved the issue, this may be an actual ILOM problem. Please open a ticket with Oracle Support to evaluate further action.
