Cause

This is a XCP firmware problem.

Solution

The fix for this issue is in XCP2051, please upgrade.

Although the product notes for XCP 2050 (or previous releases) still recommend to replace the Power Supply Backplane (PSUBP), this error can be safely ignored.

If the Power Supply Backplane should get degraded when this error occurs (i.e. the PSUBP gets marked with a (*) in the output of the "showhardconf" command),
please completely poweroff the server ( remove power cords ) and then power it on again.

If you have further questions regarding this problem, please open a Service Request.

Hint: It is strongly recommended to keep the XCP Firmware up-to-date. Links to corresponding Firmware downloads: M10-1  M10-4  M10-4S

Fujitsu provided the following details about the root cause of this error:

- Due to XCP bug, XSCF wrongly detects data corruption at FMEM on PSUBP.
"showlogs error" command shows you “Msg: System backup memory access error”.

- Firmware shows us two different behaviors depending on “timing” issue.

a) Firmware automatically makes recovery of PSUBP (RTIF2-121113-029)
In this case, a log, which is not have to be taken, is collected as above. What we have to do is, just ignore it.

b) Firmware deconfigures PSUBP though such deconfiguration is not really required (RTIF2-121129-001)
In this case, because PSUBP, which is mandatory portion to start system, is deconfigured, XSCF will reject request of power-on when requested. In this case, we need to disconnect power from box, move slide switch on operator panel to “service position”, connect power to the box, and move back switch to the original position. Then, XSCF will make recovery from deconfiguration of PSUBP.

- Firmware team is looking into how this bug should be fixed.
