Symptoms

Sun Ultra 24 is reporting "Chassis Fan Failed" on power on.

Cause

 This is due to the Intel ME BIOS default settings for the CPU fan.

Solution

To prevent or resolve this issue, use the following procedure to access the Management Engine (ME) BIOS Setup utility and change the power policies.

This information will be added to a revision of the Sun Fire Ultra 24 Service Manual.
