Symptoms

New T10000 (T10K) media failed to initialize.

The VTSS has the required minimum microcode required to support MVC initialization.

Cause

Cisco MDS-9513 switch, FICON Tape Acceleration (FTA)

Solution

Workaround: Turn off FTA on CISCO switch to initialize blank MVC. Turn on FTA for data migration performance.

Contact Cisco for details regarding the firmware required to resolve this issue.

BugDB 16856227 filed for CISCO FICON Tape Acceleration (FTA) problem, this will be the final solution using new CISCO FW.
