Symptoms

The server iLOM CLI (Command Line Interface) console may hang or not respond:

> cd cli /CH/BL0/SP/cli
 -> ls
 /CH/BL0/SP/cli
  Targets:

  Properties:
type = Blade CLI
user = root

  Commands:
cd
set
show
start
stop

-> start Are you sure you want to start /CH/BL0/SP/cli (y/n)? Y

Cause

Blade 0 (SP) Service Processor has potentially hung in this example.

It therefore has no response to the command to start BL0 session from the CMM.

And you are not able to login to blade ILOM directly through SSH & GUI.

Solution

Reset the BL0 blade ILOM from CMM by running below command:

-> reset /CH/BL0/SP

Blade operations will continue as normal.

Whilst the blade is out of production, consider updating SP firmware to the latest available to avoid potential future issues:
