In this Document
Oracle Confidential PARTNER - Available to partners (SUN). Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsUnable to enter or eject cartridges from the CAP (Cartridge Access Port) when a Right Hand Side BOT fails or goes offline. CauseMicrocode bug exist that prevents normal CAP operations when a RHS bot goes offline. SolutionOpen and close the CAP door or doors so that the CAP cells are maked as inaccessable. The library will move all ejected cartridges to other rails that are not obstructed by a down Handbot. You still will not have access to the CAP on the specific rail that the right side bot has failed. The next step would be prudent if you would like to restore full CAP functionality. Remove the defective Right Hand Side robot as soon as possible and reboot the left side robot so it can service the entire rail to allow for normal CAP processing. Note: This effects all firmware up to and including 8.36. This will be fixed in 8.5x code forecast for Sept. 2015 release.
