Symptoms

  • The output from "show-volumes" (need to select the path to imbedded controller or REM previously) command in OBP show "Volume Not Consisted" message:
{0} ok show-volumes

  • However, in the sas2ircu, the status of the volume is set to Okay:

The sas2ircu commands contained in the LSI SAS2 Integrated Configuration Utility can be used to configure and manage RAID volumes on your server.

Please note that the sas2ircu utility is not a part of Solaris and needs to be downloaded from the LSI website.
To use the sas2ircu command set, download and install the SAS2IRCU software for the appropriate product:

Cause

The system is affected by following defect:

Bug 15774386 : RAID VOLUMES REPORTING VOLUME NOT CONSISTENT AT OBP

Solution

The fix for this issue is implemented in OBP release: 4.35.x

Solution is to install Firmware 8.4.0.a or later on the T4-x systems & 8.3.1 or later on T3-x systems.  It is always best to install the latest firmware to keep the system up-to-date .

Please note, that this state can be ignored as long as the sas2ircu utility shows volume OK
