Symptoms

The event logs will show a pilot failover.

Changes

Customer has installed the Axiom EOM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) plugin

Cause

With the default settings, the EM plugin is polling the pilot too often: System state every minute and Event list every 2 minutes.
Each poll invoke many internal commands on the pilot to feed the information back to the Enterprise Manager server. This can lead to the memory to be overloaded and resulting in a crash of the managment process leading to a pilot failover.

Solution

The parameters in Enterprise Manager have been changed to at least:
System State: 5min
Events list: 15min

This problem is addressed in R6 where the processes will manage OEM polls more effectively
