Symptoms

Cannot do Guided Fru Replacement (GFR) on a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) after loosing AC input.

Cause

Lost AC input from the customer environment

The VSM Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is faulty

GFR no replace is not clearing the fenced PDU due to ISP (VSM Support Processor card) requiring to be switched

Solution

Steps to clear a fenced PDU after AC power is lost.

1. Check with the customer and insure that the  AC power is back.

2. The following steps needs to be done by a Oracle field engineer, open a service request.

3. Do a GFR, No Replace of the failing PDU.

4. If the GFR fails, the ISP may need to be switched to standby and then back to primary ISP.

5. If the ISP switch does not help, the PDU may be faulty.  Make a new task on the existing SR, and order a replacement PDU.
