Symptoms

Stuck tape reported in a HP LTO4 drive within a SL8500.

Media will not eject or unload

Cause

Media pin has come loose/detached and has dropped inside the tape drive.

Solution

Engineer needed to remove tape by hand, reseat mechanism inside install and test for the customer before putting back into server.

Cartridge to be returned to the customer, if damaged not to be re-installed.

Customer to decide on recovery or disposal of media.
