Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

6 power supplies failed in the SL8500 tape library. Below is the SL8500 addresses for the power supplies. All are rail power supplies. 1,0,0,1,17 1,0,0,1,18 1,0,0,1,25 1,0,0,1,26 1,0,0,1,5 1,0,0,1,6.  All 4 handbots were inoperative along with the CAP and elevator.

AC power ok - false, DC power ok - false

No power to the library rails.

Cause

It appears that the left front library door was open/not closed all the way which caused the library to cut power to all rails. This could also be caused by someone pressing the ERS (Emergency Robotic Stop) button on the front of the library.

Solution

Closed left front library door. Verify all devices, handbots, CAP, elevator, power supplies, etc. come back online via SL Console.
