Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1551810.1 : SL8500 - Clarification on DTCP/IP With Redundant Controller Features
In this Document
Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsOn page 206 of SL8500 Users Guide, - Redundant Electronics Operations CauseMis-worded documentation. SolutionEach library controller card requires its own unique IP address. If the the Dual TCP/IP feature is active on the library, then each card requires two unique IP addresses: one for the primary port (2B) and one for the secondary (2B). -This statement is miss-worded; in an RE configuration there is a Side_A and Side_B and each side has one HBCR<library controller> card with public IP ports that attach to the Host for library control. -Port_2B is the standard primary port for each side. The minimum requirement is a unique address for each side; Side_A Port_2B and Side_B Port_2B. Port_2A is a secondary port used with the optional Dual TCP/IP feature. If Dual TCP/IP is installed then a total of 4 unique IP addresses are required. This statement should state; “Each library controller card requires its own unique IP address. If the the Dual TCP/IP feature is active on the library, then each card requires two unique IP addresses: one for the primary port (2B) and one for the secondary (2A). Note: This will be updated in future release of the User's Guide. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
