When a Tape Drive is connected to a VSM, and it is having hardware problems like mount/dismount issues, the VTCS will put the RTD in maintenance mode. After the hardware issue has been resolved, the RTD can be put back online in VSM.

Cause

The drive needs cleaning:

Solution

Eject the expired cleaning cartridge and mount a new one in the drive.
