Symptoms

Error message on the monitor after initiating a backup:
"Check Backup in Progress failed"

The backup was retried and this error message came up:
"Start Backup failed - Operation Already in Progress"

The backup succeeded on the third try.

Changes

No known changes

Cause

A backup operation was already in progress when the backup operator initiated his backup

Solution

Check the Audit event log for a backup process that is in progress

If a backup is in progress, wait for the backup to complete or terminate.
Then, initiate another backup from the Backup List window.

If the backup remains hung, then the only way to clear it is to reboot the KMA:

OKM - How to Correctly Shutdown and Reboot a KMA (Doc ID 1019656.1)

Once the KMA is rebooted, then initiate the OKM Backup.
