Symptoms

Drive failed with FSC 37A1, FSC37A1

     FRU: MICROCODE CONF: 100%

     The calculated sector position on tape is greater than the maximum number of sectors on tape. 

   
 

Changes

 T10000C - this problem can occur if a tape written in a higher density is put into a T1000C drive with code that does not recognize that higher density.

Cause

 In this scenario, a tape was created in T10000D drive in the lab and was sent to customer by mistake. Then this tape was read by T10000C and failed.

Solution

Inform customer to put this tape aside. 

For T10000C, code 1.57.308 due out first of May 2013 shall have the fix.
