Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Host HBA failed and it was replaced with new single port Emulex LPE1150
To correctly detect the new HBA WWN on the Axiom, Zoning was reconfigured correctly on the Switch
However the Axiom GUI was not detecting the new HBA in the Configure > Hosts section

Changes

 Host HBA was replaced.

Cause

Since the WWN of the new HBA will be different from the old one, the WWN needs to be configured or associated to the Host so that host talks to the Storage using that path.

The new WWN for the HBA was not showing up in Un-associated Hosts in GUI. There were no errors on the GUI regarding the WWN. Neither was it is showing as detected or failed

Note:

Similar issue was experienced on a Lab Environment axiom on a higher R5 code. It was resolved using the same method.

Solution

On the GUI added the WWN Manually
Rebooted host - (Need to reboot this because the Boot from SAN technology the HBA needs to be re-scanned at the BIOS Level to detect the LUN mapped to it)

Issue resolved
