Applies to:

Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Drive shows up as Loaded - null in Drive Details.

Cause

Possible causes:

1. Tape with no label is loaded in the drive.
2. Label is misplaced/incorrect etc.

Perform the Physical Audit on the drive, showed Label as 'u-read' which indicates that the label was unreadable by the robot.

Solution

Perform a physical Audit on the drive

(NOTE: Do not select Entire Library as it will take long time to perform audit. Select Entire Library - No, Physical Audit: yes, Verified Audit: No and ensure to select the intact range).

If the label is shown as 'u-read' or 'unreadable', then eject the tape cartridge from the drive and library.
Tools>Diagnostics>Highlight the library>Click Rcvr move.  Source Drive id and destination: empty slot/CAP slot. Click move.

Load another tape with a known good label and perform a move using barcode label.
