In this Document
Created from <SR 3-7031006192> Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsCommunication to library server failed. Customer is not able to communicate with the library. No mounts, library appears offline to the Server Console. HBK Module: Secure Key Grace Period Active 2013-03-27 01:23:02 ChangesNone CauseCustomer is not able to communicate with the library. No mounts, library appears offline to the Server Console. SolutionThere's no way to reset the HBK. In this situation, the HBC is running out of the config data mirror it keeps in its flash. The library will function fine for up to 30 days without the HBK. This should be enough time to procure a replacement. The only risk is, HBC failure. If HBC fails and has to be replaced, the library will lose config information. Refer to: 1019657.1 - HBK and PUK ordering process for SL8500 and SL3000 (with firmware levels at 3.72 or higher) and SL3000 (all firmware levels). The HBK card must be replaced within the grace period.
