Symptoms

Customer has Symantec Backup Exec as backup application on Windows 2008 R2 server. Robot is seen as "Unknown Media Changer". Drivers for HP LTO5 drive are successfully installed.

BackupExec 2012 cannot recognize SL150 robot with LTO5 FC drives, even though BackupExec 2012 is marked as TESTED and SUPPORTED application for SL150 in Oracle doc. See SL150 - Minimum Software and HBA Requirements to support the SL150 Library [ID 1481764.1]

In Windows 2008 R2 server OS robot is seen as "Unknown Media Changer". Drivers for HP LTO5 drive are successfully installed.

There is no SL150 on HCL and Symantec refused SL150 issue support case.

Symantec has not provided support.

No support provided by Symantec (prior to 21/2/13)
