Symptoms

Storage server has an issue “Electronic Storage Module (ESM) Lifetime is not within specification for one or more flash cards on one or more storage servers”

reported by EXACHK 2.2.0.

show: Invalid target /SYS/MB/RISER2/PCIE2/F20CARD

All the flash disks are present and seem correctly setup.

Solution

1. Reset the ILOM to see if this brings back the aura card data - check to see if problem is resolved.

2. If step #1 fails, power cycle the system so that everything gets reinitialized including the riser - check to see if problem is resolved.

3. If step #2 fails, engage HW team to dispatch an FE who can reseat the Riser card - check to see if problem is resolved.

4. Lastly, if all previous steps have failed, replace the PCI RISER Card.
