Symptoms

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Sun x86 Systems

You may observe the following when you power on the system when the service processor (SP) is already up and running.

The front panel amber PS fault LED may turn may turn on for 2-3 seconds and then LED will turn off.

The system will continue to boot and is running the OS fine, however you check and see the following messages in the SEL and/or event list around the time of power on:

Cause

This false upper/lower non-critical errors can occur when the SP has an old version.
The issue has been resolved in newer SP firmware on each platform.

Bug 15425850 : SUNBT6608814 X4100 M2 LOWER NON-CRITICAL VOLTAGE SENSE(THE SAME TO X4600)

Bug 15481557 : SUNBT6704468 X4100 M2 FALSE UPPER NON-CRITICAL GOING HIGH MESSAGES

Solution

Make sure your SP has the latest version available.
