You may observe the following when you power on the system when the service processor (SP) is already up and running. The front panel amber PS fault LED may turn may turn on for 2-3 seconds and then LED will turn off. The system will continue to boot and is running the OS fine, however you check and see the following messages in the SEL and/or event list around the time of power on: 6000 | 12/14/2005 | 01:03:14 | Power Supply ps0.pwrok | State Deasserted 6100 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:41 | Voltage mb.v_+1v5core | Lower Non-critical going low | Reading 0.01 < Threshold 1.20 Volts 6200 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:41 | Voltage p1.v_vdd | Lower Non-critical going low | Reading 0.89 < Threshold 1.00 Volts 6300 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:41 | Power Supply ps0.pwrok | State Asserted 6400 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:46 | Voltage mb.v_+1v5core | Lower Non-critical going high | Reading 1.51 > Threshold 1.20 Volts 6500 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:46 | Voltage p1.v_vdd | Lower Non-critical going high | Reading 1.39 > Threshold 1.00 Volts 6600 | 12/14/2005 | 01:04:46 | Processor p1.fail | Predictive Failure Asserted 502 | 05/14/2008 | 00:12:21 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Non-critical going high | Reading 1.79 > Threshold 1.00 Volts 602 | 05/14/2008 | 13:31:10 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Critical going high | Reading 1.79 > Threshold 1.09 Volts 702 | 05/14/2008 | 13:31:16 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Critical going low | Reading 0.92 < Threshold 1.09 Volts 402 | 05/10/2008 | 04:58:18 | System Firmware Progress | System boot initiated | Asserted 502 | 05/14/2008 | 00:12:21 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Non-critical going high | Reading 1.79 > Threshold 1.00 Volts 602 | 05/14/2008 | 13:31:10 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Critical going high | Reading 1.79 > Threshold 1.09 Volts 702 | 05/14/2008 | 13:31:16 | Voltage p1.v_vtt | Upper Critical going low | Reading 0.92 < Threshold 1.09 Volts Voltage : p0.v_vdd : Lower Non-critical going high : reading 1.34 > threshold 1.00 Volts Voltage : mb.v_+1v2core : Lower Non-critical going high : reading 1.22 > threshold 1 Volts Voltage : p0.v_vdd : Lower Non-critical going low : reading 0 < threshold 1.00 Volts Voltage : mb.v_+1v2core : Lower Non-critical going low : reading 0 < threshold 1 Volts Voltage : p0.v_vdd : Lower Non-critical going high : reading 1.34 > threshold 1.00 Volts Voltage : mb.v_+1v2core : Lower Non-critical going high : reading 1.22 > threshold 1 Volts Voltage : p0.v_vdd : Lower Non-critical going low : reading 0 < threshold 1.00 Volts Voltage : mb.v_+1v2core : Lower Non-critical going low : reading 0 < threshold 1 Volts CauseThis false upper/lower non-critical errors can occur when the SP has an old version. Bug 15425850 : SUNBT6608814 X4100 M2 LOWER NON-CRITICAL VOLTAGE SENSE(THE SAME TO X4600) Bug 15481557 : SUNBT6704468 X4100 M2 FALSE UPPER NON-CRITICAL GOING HIGH MESSAGES
SolutionMake sure your SP has the latest version available. For latest firmware - see https://support.oracle.com/handbook_private/General/x86_patch.html Attachments This solution has no attachment |
