Symptoms

 The picld daemon keeps reporting the errors below at about every 11 minutes

Error Code

Nov 12 11:19:52 D00UMPSARC02 picld[212]: [ID 629468 daemon.warning] PICL snmpplugin: cannot get entPhysicalName (row=126)

 

Cause

 There was a similar issue like this reported with prtdiag and picld in BugID: 15744959 but it was incomplete
and a rare occurance which seemed to have been triggered by a network port security scan on the network.

Sun CR: 7096396 ==> Oracle BugID: 15744959
*Synopsis*: prtdiag sensor information vanishes over time, resetsc required to bring back multiple units

=== *Workaround* =

Reset the SC (sc> resetsc).



The above bug disappeared after updating platform firmware.

Solution

Reset the the system controller

sc> resetsc

This issue is Not Reproducible in newer Firmware versions.

Install latest firmware for the Hardware platform to prevent future occurrences or the error.
