Symptoms

SLS6684I RTD dddddddd on VTSS xxxxxxxx returned ECAM error CC=5 RC=108
SLS6625E RTD dddddddd reported volume fenced: <sense data>
SLS6667I Request purged:Migrate VTVs MVC:mmmmmm VTV:vvvvvv ECAM error CC=5 RC=108

Cause

Loss of communication between the VTSS and RTD while migrating VTV vvvvvv.

Solution

Review the HSC joblog for all messages related to the affected RTD, MVC, and VTV.  The term 'fenced' normally applies to a VTV.

Display the status of the VTV and MVC referenced in message SLS6667I.  In this case, VTV vvvvvv was in the process of being migrated to MVC mmmmmm when a loss of communication to the drive occurred.  The partially migrated copy of the VTV was fenced, and that specific migration request was purged.

Verify that the VTSS resident copy of the VTV is not fenced.

Verify that the VTV is migrated to all required MVC copies.

If the VTSS resident copy of the VTV is fenced, refer to one or more of the following knowledge articles depending on the status of the VTV:
