Symptoms

After entering into the Intel ME BIOS using the default password 'admin' (without quotes), when we try to change the Intel ME password and we get "Error - Intel(R) ME password change rejected" error message

Cause

This error is because of weak or unsupported password.

Solution

We need to use a strong password and it should have the following combination:

1. Comprise 8 to 32 characters

2. Including both upper and lower case characters

3. At least one numeric character

4. At least one ASCII non-alphanumeric character (!, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *)

example: Me@Admin!00
