Created from <SR 3-6500244211> Applies to:Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Full Rack - Version All Versions and laterEnterprise Manager for Exadata - Version 12.1.0.1.0 and later Oracle Exadata Hardware - Version 11.2.0.1 and later Information in this document applies to any platform. OEM 12c: Exadata Database Machine Discovery Symptoms
Discovery fails with java.net.UnknownHostException error in a pop-up message, as shown below:
You can see this is referring to the Infiniband Switch.
CauseThe hostname set for the Infiniband switch does not match the configuration files. Check the following:
1. Check the entry for the switch in "/opt/ oracle.SupportTools/onecommand/databasemachine.xml" where it shows the name as lpnoe02asw-ib3
2. Check the "hostname" command when connected to the switch; it shows a name mismatch compared with the name specified in "databasemachine.xml": [root@lpone02asw-ib3 ~]# hostname
3. The ibnetdiscover output also shows the same mismatch: switchguid=0x212****66a0a0(212****6a0a0)
SolutionCorrect the hostname of the switch to match the name specified in "/opt/ oracle.SupportTools/onecommand/databasemachine.xml" and continue with discovery
