Symptoms


When attempting to change the array password using the Browser User Interface (BUI) or Command Line (CLI) with CAM 6.9 the following error is displayed:


Old password is not the same as the registered password.


Example from the CLI:


# sscs modify -p array <arrayname>
Type the old password:
Type the new password:
Verify the new password:
Old password is not the same as the registered password.
#

Cause


This issue is related to the unpublished <bug 15940671>.



Solution


This issue is resolved with CAM 6.10. Please refer to <Document 1296274.1> How to Download Common Array Manager (CAM) Software and Patches to download this version.


If you cannot upgrade to CAM 6.10, the workaround is below:


    

  1. Download an earlier version of CAM (ie: CAM 6.8.1). Refer to <Document 1296274.1> How to Download Common Array Manager (CAM) Software and Patches.
    2. 

  2. Install this earlier version on a separate server.
    3. 

  3. Register the array in this earlier CAM release.
    4. 

  4. Change the array password using this earlier CAM release.
    5. 

  5. Register the array back in the CAM 6.9 server.
    6.
