Sun Fire T2000 Server - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When the uptime command is executed, the output shows a value as follows:

bash-3.00# uptime
7:36 am up 4690 day(s), 10:14, 2 users, load average: 0.59, 0.66, 0.61

It says that the server has 4690 day(s) this translates to the system has been up for +/-12 years.

Even after reboots, the problem persists.

Cause

According to Wayne Titchen (wayne.titchen@oracle.com), this issue is being reviewed since there is a second bug which impacts in the solution.

Here are 2 bug's relating to the same issue:
Bug 15362515 : SUNBT6496088 BAD OUTPUT FROM UPTIME AND PRSTAT WITH LDOMS FIRMWARE
Bug 17898469 : UPTIME MISLEADING ON SUNFIRE T2000. REPLACED THE SYSTEM CONTROLLER BATTERY BUT N

The suggested action plan in this case is:

- Update to the new firmware and reset the ALOM date, and the HOST date:

1. Have customer set auto-boot=false
2. Power down HOST and perform " resetsc "
3. Use ALOM set date command ( set for UTC time )
4. Power on and go to the console and boot single user ( boot -s )
5. Login as root and set the date to the local time ( date command )
6. Once the date has been entered, type halt ( wait for shut down )
7. ok> set auto-boot? true
8. ok> reset-all

As soon as the correct solution is available, this document will be updated.
