Symptoms

FRS 8.01 and FRS-4.0 Codes Expire SLConsole Session after 6 Hours

Changes

Upgraded library firmware.

Cause

Due to Oracle security standards, new SL8500 and SL3000 codes will timeout an SLConsole session after 6 hours. This will require logging in again after the 6 hour period.

Solution

Due to Oracle security standards, new SL8500 and SL3000 codes will timeout an SLConsole session after 6 hours. This will require logging in again after the 6 hour period. This time can be extended to 1 week (168 hours)by entering the following command from a "service" login:

SL8500> config pliAuth set 168

Possible values for the "hours" parameter are 6, 24, 48, 72 or 168 - The default value is 6.

This timeout behavior:

  • Affects both local and remote SLConsole sessions.
  • Affects all user IDs (service, admin etc).
  • Affects a CLI login.
