Symptoms

On a Release 5.x.x Axiom. There is a time difference between the alerts printed in the email alerts and the events shown in the GUI.

The time zone used by the GUI seems wrong.

Cause

Internally: All debug logs and events are recorded internally in UTC.

Email Alerts: When an email is sent the event is copied in the email with the internal UTC time stamp.

In the GUI: In the event viewer, the UTC is translated to the local timezone of the workstation on which ASSM (Axiom Service Storage Manager) is running.

Solution

There is no fix for the email alerts at the moment.

For the GUI: It has been reported that using a virtual desktop using Wyse may lead to the wrong timezone being displayed.
                  You may see a wrong time zone setting in the System Time setting, check the time zone on the local workstation and restart the GUI to apply the changes.
