Symptoms

We got the following error messages from the SL24:

Unable to render the following message: read open error: errno = 5, drivestat = b
38758 10/12/12 01:00:36 2 0 0 1 1584 0 in1brsrv nsrd media warning: /dev/rmt/6cbn reading: read open error: command completed successfully (drive status is 65329 35 The drive serial number has changed)
7224 10/12/12 01:00:37 2 0 0 1 1584 0 in1brsrv nsrd [Jukebox `SL24-2', operation # 9]. Device/media error: read open error: command completed successfully (drive status is 65329 35 The drive serial number has changed)

Cause

Backup application losing configuration.
 
The library and drives are healthy.
The backup software is sending messages referring to the configuration.
 

Solution

- Confirmed the Issue with the customer
- Customer granted details
- Found no Hardware issues, suggested the customer to check with the backup SW configuration.
- Customer confirmed they solved the issue by re-configuring the backup application.
 

** Networker was reconfigured and assigning different scsi ID's for each tape drive **
