Symptoms

Listed in order of probability:

1. 3255/3254 Perm errors.  FSC3255, FSC3254

2. 2B5A SNO.  FSC2B5A

3. Early tape Full condition.

 

Changes

Factory break-in of up-level HW.

Cause

Microcode needs to now recognize and properly configure both the new HW level and the previous levels for compatibility.

Solution

 

Ensure all new machines run the new minimum level/s of microcode.

Short Term: RL53.315 ( note since R1.53.316 code is now released that is the code to use)

Long Term: 1.53.316 or higher code.
