Symptoms
DIRECTOR End of Rail Init: wrist sweep failed, cannot initialize robotics.
Cause
Possibly wrist movement is getting blocked because of the following:
- Damage on the hand assembly or wrist.
- Obstruction in the path of the robot and or hand assembly.
- Stuck tape in the hand.
Any external factors obstructing the robot and hand assembly from functioning. (Ex: Stuck tape in drive or slots, miss aligned slots etc.)
Error logs show that the wrist sweep has failed. This indicates that the hand bot is not able to move the wrist for following reasons:
Possibly wrist movement is getting blocked because of the following.
- Damage on the hand assembly or wrist.
- Obstruction in the path of the robot and or hand assembly.
- Stuck tape in the hand.
Any external factors obstructing the robot and hand assembly from functioning. (Ex: Stuck tape in drive or slots, miss aligned slots etc.
Solution
Reboot the robot in question.
- Visually inspect the robot for any physical damage on the Hand assembly.
- Reset the robots in the library.
- Remove the tape from the Hand assembly if any, and check the wrist movement is smooth.
- Check the hand-bot for its movement through out the rail.
- Check for any external factors obstructing the robot and hand assembly from functioning. (Ex: Stuck tape in drive or slots, miss aligned slots etc.
If all looks good, perform the move operation using the robot to ensure its functionality.
Replace the robot if failed..
