Symptoms

Applies to: Ax500 or Ax600 at Release 5.x

The Ax500 or Ax600 may generate a Warning level Event indicating that Brick Strings are not Balanced.

This event is generated approximately once every 24 hours.

The Event Log will contain entries at a daily interval:

Cause

The event was intended to warn if the exact number of bricks in each string, or FC loop, on the Axiom Slammers is not the same.

The Pilot Software counts the number of nodes on the internal FibreChannel loops, and generates this event once per day if the number of nodes on each string is not exactly the same as the number on other strings.

The threshold for this event is brick strings where any string has at least two bricks more or less than another string.

The event will be suppressed in a future Axiom release, as the method used to generate it does not consider the brick load, or that an unbalance of only two bricks has little to no effect.

Solution

No action should be taken as a result of this event.

This event was suppressed in release 5.4.0.
