Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1472548.1 : Users Report Poor 'Erase' Performance When Holding Down the Backspace Key in a virtualized Windows Desktop hosted within Oracle's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-5713617231> Applies to:Sun Ray Software - Version SRS 5.3 and laterOracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure - Version 3.3.1 and later Sun Ray Hardware - Version Sun Ray 2 to Sun Ray 3Plus [Release 1.0] Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsUsers connecting to virtualized Windows desktops hosted within Oracle's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment may report poor 'erase' performance when holding down the Backspace key on 3rd party keyboards attached to a Sun Ray Client device. In this scenario, users may report that the key works as expected, but repeat performance is impacted. Specifically: users that tap the backspace key 20 times will remove 20 characters as expected. However, simply holding the ky down will result in slower-than-expected performance, about 1 second between each character. Additional Information:
CauseThis behavior is caused by the use of unsupported / untested keyboards with Sun Ray Client devices. Oracle does not validate 3rd party keyboards, as outlined on page 7 of:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/sunrayproducts/docs/sr-ovdc-peripherals-060413-1953711.pdf SolutionThe solution to this behavior is to use a supported Oracle/Sun branded keyboard with the Sun Ray Client device.
