Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1460300.1 : Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System: Replicated Share Not Able To Inherit Replication Properties Of New Project.
Created from <SR 3-5514043911> Applies to:Sun Storage 7210 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and laterSun Storage 7310 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and later Sun Storage 7410 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7120 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) SymptomsCannot inherit properties for a replicated project on 2010.08.17.4.0 ( 2010Q3.4 ) or earlier. The problem occurs when carrying out the following actions:
NAS7000:> shares select pidb1i_08 select i_oradata replication show Properties: inherited = false Actions: TARGET STATUS NEXT action-000 None idle manual NAS7000:> NAS7000:> shares select pidb1i_08 select i_oradata replication set inherited=true Inheriting the replication configuration from the project means that the share will no longer be replicated on its own, but rather it will be replicated with the project and all other shares inheriting this project's configuration. All replication configuration previously associated with this share will be destroyed. All existing replicas of this share on all targets will be unaffected by this operation. Such replicas will NOT be used for future replication updates. The share will be replicated with a full update for each of the project's replication actions. Are you sure? (Y/N) inherited = false <===== Still false NAS7000:>
ChangesA share is replicated and then moved to a new project. The replication configuration for the share should be inherited from the new project. CauseThis issue is a bug seen with older ak firmware, 2010.08.17.4.0 or earlier. SolutionThe problem is not seen when both source and target are 2011.1.1.0 or above Please upgrade to Appliance Firmware Release 2011.1.1.0 or above to fix. Inheritance property can only be changed if replication is done at project level for old firmwares.
