if changed to:

output-device=ttya
input-device=ttya

Console command does not connect to serial console

sc> console -f

all other processes are working fine from both the OS and ALOM

Cause

SC is unable to communiate with the OS console processes

Solution

Restart (stop/start) ttymon or console services

Solaris 10 - svcs

# svcadm disable console-login
# svcadm enable console-login
