Symptoms

L700e Library is installed with LTO2 & LTO4 drives.
After upgrading Library code from 3.15.02 to 3.18.02, mount operations on all LTO4 drive are failing intermittently.
LT02 operations are not affected.

Below FSCs are logged for mount operation on LTO4 drives from ACSLS or directly from L700.

3E0A --- ERR_DRV_CMD_TTI_FAILURE, - DRV Command Failed - TTI communication to drive failed.
3E15 --- ERR_DRV_CONN_STATE_NOT_FUNCTIONAL - DRV Drive Connection State Transition - Drive not functional.

Changes

Code upgrade from 3.15.02 to 3.18.0.

Cause

This issue is due to a Bug in library code 3.18.02 effecting LTO4 Drives.

The reported FSCs when the drives fail and the firmware levels are:
1. The IBM LTO 4s fail with 3E0A and 3E15, code is at 94D7
    "3E15 is "Drive not functional"
    "3E0A is "TTI communication to drive failed"

2. The HP LTO 4s fail with 3E0A and 3E13, code is at H58S
    "3E13 is "Drive not responding"

Solution

There is no plan to fix this Bug as the L700/L180/L1400 are EOSL. (End of Service Life)
Option is to downgrade code to 3.17.02.
