Symptoms

The customer started receiving the error below and wanted to investigate whether this was an NFS mounting issue that could be storage-related.

" kernel: lockd: server xxx.xxx.xxx.190 not responding, still trying."

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Disk Storage Pillar Axiom System

Cause

The application associated with this error may be running into host-side resource contention with requesting too many files at one time.

Solution

A web search for the error points to a possible kernel bug on the Linux OS. Additionally, the customer may try isolating the application responsible, and look into associated bugs with it. If neither of those 2 avenues work, then further Axiom logs may be needed to triage this further from a storage standpoint.

Usually, replacing or reconfiguring the application has solved the issue.
