Symptoms

SL500 Op Panel is blank and does not power on.

Error recorded in Event Logs:

2012-01-20T06:34:12.503, 0.0.0.0.0, 000, OpPanel, , config, 0000, 0000, "LCD firmware is out of date - Updating"
2012-01-20T06:34:24.542, 0.0.0.0.0, 000, OpPanel, , config, 0000, 0000, "Failed to access LCD monitor program"
----

Cause

Any of the Faulty Parts listed below can cause this :

LCD Panel / LCD Power & Signal Cables / RLM

Solution

Below approach is suggested in isolating the faulty component :

1. Power Cycle of SL500 would fix any temporary problems.
2. Update the Library FW to latest.
3. FE need to inspect below are seated correctly at both ends :
    - RLM- OP Panel Signal Cable
    - RLM -OP Panel Power Cable

4. Replace the LCD Panel.

5. Replace below cables :
   - 419653601 [F] CBL ASSY,RLM-OP PNL,PWR
   - 419653701 [F] CBL ASSY,RLM-OP PNL,SIG

6. In one of the cases below combined cable has solved the problem.
    [single harness instead of 2 seperate signal & power cables]

   - 419666801 [F] CBL HARNESS,OP,SL500

7. Next option is to go with a Blank RLM. This is helpful if there is a passive component failure on RLM.

8. If nothing works, a programmed RLM is needed.
