SymptomsBrocade 5100, running Fabric OS v6.1.1a or earlier, with two fan/power supplies installed and just one connected to external power because there is either no A/C connection or its power switch is turned off will incorrectly report the fan (not connected to external power) as faulty. Cause
SolutionTo avoid this issue, connect the power cord to the fan/power supply and to external power before seating it within the Brocade 5100 and then turn on the fan/power supply’s power switch as soon as possible after it has been fully installed/seated.
