Brocade 5300 Switch - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempting to perform a licenseadd command may fail with "I/O error occurred or license DB might be corrupted". This may be on an installed switch or during a switch replacement where the transferred licenses are being added to the new switch.

Cause

Brocade DEFECT000233165 or one of the other license DB corrupt issues (DEFECT000231935) may apply. These are resolved in FOS 6.2.0 (or higher). If the switch previously had lower firmware than 6.2.0 installed it is possible that its license DB was corrupted during that time.

Solution

The license DB on the switch is not recoverable and the switch needs to be replaced.
