Symptoms

Scope

  • Problems with phone home service
  • Provide additional information for message web rpc error
  • ASR - Cannot register Sun System

 

Error Codes

An unanticipated system error occurred:

web rpc failed (expected response code 200, got 409)

This may be due to transient failure, or a software defect.
If this problem persists, contact your service provider.

Cause

Before you can use the automatic phone home option you have to register your System.

 

Solution

If your system was previously registered using a Sun Online Account, and now should be using an Oracle SSO (Single Sign On) - My Oracle Support login - a re-registration is necessary.

Action Plan for Internal engineers to resolve this issue:

A customer receiving the following error when trying to register or re-register a ZFS Appliance.

    "web rpc failed (expected response code 200, got 409)"


This is an issue were the customer may be using a username that was previously a Sun Online Account (SOA) username and is using the same one now as their Oracle Single Sign On (SSO) account.

The ASR backend registration system requires that a linking of the SOA to SSO be done in order to allow for the registration to be successful.


Fix: Send an email to the connected_team_us_grp@oracle.com team providing the following information so that they can make the link association between the logins.

  • The expected turnaround is generally the same to 1 day.
  • Once you receive a response from the connected team, have the customer attempt the registration again.

I have a customer having an issue registering the following...

Last Login Attempt: The last attempt was on <specify date>
Error Message Received: "Web rpc failed (expected response code 200 get 409)"
