Symptoms

rpcmod shows svc_cots_kdup no slots free on Sun ZFS Storage System while using direct NFS feature.

On Solaris, it is easy to avoid this by modifying parameters via entries in the /etc/system file.

/etc/system example entries:

@ set rpcmod:maxdupreqs=8192

set rpcmod:cotsmaxdupreqs=8192

But on the Sun ZFS Storage Appliance, this workaround is not available.

Cause

Check the version you are using - it is possible that you are hitting a known bug.

<BUG:15698329> Need to increase RPC cotsmaxdupreqs to help with impact of 6993541.

Solution

This CR has been fixed in 2010.Q3.2.1 or later - available under the Patches & Updates tab
