Symptoms

Customer is having a SunBlade 6000 with 2 "VIRTUALIZED MULTI-FABRIC 10GBE NEM" modules which are currently running fine with X64 blades.
Customer has got a FEM module (X4835A) for the T6320 blade in order to use the 10Gbit ethernet for storage. He installed the FEM module in the blade and rebooted it.

The 10GB-ports are not shown at show-nets (customer is unable to use his nxge interfaces)

Changes

The customer has just installed FEM module (X4835A) which is the supported module for this kind of NEM ("VIRTUALIZED MULTI-FABRIC 10GBE NEM")

Cause

Customer is having a Service Processor with -05 revision
(in the showfru)

As explained in the Sun Blade T63X0 PCIe Pass-Through Fabric Expansion Module User’s Guide:

501-1170-05 (or earlier) – You must replace the service processor with the latest version.

Solution

- Replace the SP with 501-1170-06 or later
- Apply patch 142151-03 Hardware/PROM: Sun Blade T6320 Server Module motherboard CPLD update for Fabric Expansion Module (FEM)

NOTEs:

Installing the Patch 142151-03 (Sun Blade T6320 Server Module motherboard CPLD update for Fabric Expansion Module; FEM) will fail if an older rev ILOM is in the T6320 blade.
These older ILOM cards; 501-7822-xx (any revision) and 510-1170-05 (or earlier) will not work with patch 142151-03. Before installing the patch, please check your ILOM rev level by doing:

-> show SYS/SP or sc> showfru /SYS/SP

The T6320 G2 blades do not need this CPLD patch.
