Solution
FSC73D8 indicates that an RTD (Real Tape Drive) is offline. If the RTD display shows the RTD to be Offline Undefined, please do the following to allow troubleshooting:
1. Connect to the failing VTSS subsystem and verify the status of the RTDs.
2. If the RTD is back online, could have been a media issue customer already resolved.
Verify with customer that problem is resolved.
3. If RTD is found Offline in Maintenance Mode please review Document 1110439.1
4. If RTD is found Offline in Undefined Mode, do the following:
a) Remotely log in to the VTSS.
b) Download HIC_STAT.DIA to the Zenobia server.
c) If the VTSS subsystem is either a VSM4 or VSM5, download PFAELG4A/B/C/D.dat to the Zenobia server.
d) Download the remaining base files.
e) At the Zenobia server, crunch HIC_STAT.DIA and PFAELG4A/B/C/D files
f) At the Zenobia server, review NLKOUT file for RTD errors.
g) Document appropriate error information in the SR and dispatch FSE for service.
The RTD should not be replaced unless event log analysis shows it is defective.
