Cause

Solution

The L180/L700 audits the CAP only as required. Notice of a CAP change is sent to the host after a CAP open. After a CAP open, the first time a CAP location is requested, an audit of the CAP will occur. ACSLS will auto-drive a CAP audit after a CAP open, making it appear that the library is automatically auditing the CAP.

For detailed information on the Auto Inventory processes for an
L-Series Library, please refer to: L180/L700 - How Does Auto Inventory of CAP Work? (Doc ID 1016393.1)

Additional Information
When the customer enters tapes to the CAP and then shuts the CAP they are expecting the library to auto inventory the CAP and put away the tapes.
Tape entered to the CAP and CAP is shut.
